"Man and Sky as One" series

I was born in the Nei Mongolia grassland north of the Great Wall of China. I am a Manchu. At the age of 5, I moved to Handan City, Hebei Province.

My family's relatives all live in the northeast plain of Heilongjiang Province. Because they often go back to visit their relatives, they can feel the local customs and the endless vast plain scenery there. Every time I see the blue sky, black earth and white clouds, an inexplicable creative excitement surges from the bottom of my heart.
Since 1993, I have been using the body as a medium to create performance art. Over time, my interest in race, kinship and identity is increasing day by day. I began to take the nomadic civilization north of the Great Wall as the basis to postpone my concept of artistic creation.

In 2002, by chance, I worked for an artist friend in Daqing, Northeast China. When I walked to the suburbs of Daqing and saw the endless wide plains of green grass, I decided to create works in a way that integrates my body into nature. I call it the unity of heaven and man. This concept is the classic realm of traditional Chinese philosophy and the core idea of "Shamanism" believed by the nomads in the north. It is to view the way human survival with the concept of natural worship and spirituality.
In 2007, I went to Guilin, Guangxi Province (Guangxi Province) and Bashang Grassland (Inner Mongolia) in Inner Mongolia to create Man and Sky as One Series 2).

Its core idea is still the concept of "Shamanism", which adds a metaphysical mathematical structure to deduce my self-perception of life, the universe, plants and original matter.
